Description
of Tabla - A tabla
comprises two drums, a bass drum or bayan which is
the biggest of the two, played with the left hand,
and the treble or dayan, to be placed on the right.
The bayan features heavy Copper body whereas the
dayan is carved from sturdy wood. Both feature
goatskin drumheads and camel leather straps to
adjust the pitch. A steel tuning hammer is included
while the drums rest upon specially designed pads.
